CIRCLE JERKS x REPO MAN

Circle Jerks formed in Los Angeles in 1979 and quickly became one of the key bands of the
early Southern California punk scene. Their debut album, Group Sex, came out in 1980 and
remains one of the essential records of the era. More than 40 years later, Circle Jerks are
still doing what they’ve always done—playing loud, fast and unapologetic punk rock.
That same Los Angeles punk scene is at the heart of Alex Cox’s 1984 film Repo Man. The
movie follows Otto, a young punk who gets pulled into the bizarre world of car
repossession while capturing a very specific version of early ’80s Los Angeles.
The night will start with a Circle Jerks set, followed by a Q&A with director Alex Cox, Keith
Morris, and Zander Schloss (Kevin the Nerd and Circle Jerks bassist), then a screening of
the cult classic Repo Man.
